Subjects, Courses & Qualifications

The Diploma provides an enhanced understanding of the concepts, design and technology related to commercial scale crop production in controlled environments. It will serve as a professional qualification for individuals who are interested in starting a commercial horticulture business with modern agricultural technologies. The Diploma will also offer prospective candidates with an opportunity to upgrade their career or uplift his/her knowledge in modern agricultural technologies required for controlled environment crop production / protected agriculture, which is the future of agriculture. The courses are highly practical oriented so that the participants will obtain hands on skills. The DMAT Course Curriculum covers the following areas with hands-on practical exposure: Basics of crop production Controlled environment agriculture systems Production of fruit, vegetable, floricultural and herbal Crops in protected environments Crop environment management – media, nutrient, pest and disease management e-Agriculture – precision agriculture and e-commerce Design and construction of protected agriculture systems Greenhouse automation and management Postharvest handling, processing and value addition of greenhouse-grown crop produce Quality and safety management in protected agriculture systems Economics and management of small agribusinesses Development of a business proposal --
