Choral Singing Classes Choral Singing, one of the most popular classes at the Academy, has classes for all ages, from as young as 4 to 25. The Soul Sounds Academy Choir, the junior body of the award winning Soul Sounds, Sri Lanka’s premiere female ensemble, brought glory to the country, when they were awarded with two Gold Diplomas at the Asia Pacific Choir Games in Indonesia in 2013. Piano Classes Piano lessons absolutely can be fun and engaging to any child, if taught creatively and with the right tools. Piano Programs at the Soul Sounds Academy are designed for students from 3 years old to adults. Young beginners (3 to 5) are evaluated for readiness. From the first piano class, we customize a personal program just for you. Guitar Classes Learn the Guitar under some of our most versatile tutors at the Soul Sounds Academy. Basic Guitar courses, as well as specialized courses on Lead, and Bass guitar are taught at the Soul Sounds Academy. We also encourage students of all ages to learn to play the guitar, as well as sing and perform. Open Guitar Days are held regularly at the Soul Sounds Academy, where they also get an opportunity to interact with singers from the Soul Sounds Academy Choir. Violin Classes Violin classes at the Academy are designed for students from 3 years old to adults. Our string teachers will be able to teach in variety of teaching methods, from modern to other traditional String methods that will be customized to your individual musical goals. Our string teachers are highly qualified, and many of them perform regularly with local orchestras and bands in and out of Sri Lanka. Our group and individual violin classes are designed for students who enjoy working in a team setting. Musical Theatre The Academy’s musical theatre school offers aspiring musical theatre actors a one-of-a-kind opportunity to develop their skills as triple threat performers. Students enrolling in the musical theatre school work directly with instructors who have appeared in numerous Broadways, concerts, and touring productions. They receive real world training that prepares them to achieve success in the industry, creating an educational experience few other musical theatre academies can offer. Music Therapy This class is conducted for children with special needs. ( Individual classes – limited vacancies) Dance 101 Dance101, is specially designed by Singer / Dancer / Choreographer / Model The Soul Sounds Academy, where all it takes is to ignite a passion to perform music at its best, was set up by its Music Director, Soundarie David Rodrigo, one of Sri Lanka’s well known musicians and also founder of Sri Lanka’s premiere female ensemble Soul Sounds in 2000. The Academy was set up with the objective of creating space for young children the opportunity to excel in music, with opportunities to perform both locally and internationally. Classes are conducted by Soundarie David Rodrigo along with a panel of experienced teachers of voice, piano, violin, guitar, special needs as well as theory of music and Musical Theatre.
